If your site is built on WordPress and you’ve just upgraded to WordPress 3.1, your Custom Fields and Excerpts may have disappeared in your admin panel.
Luckily there is a simple solution to get them back.
I was about to spend time delving into code to see what was wrong when I updated to WordPress 3.1 and found that the tick boxes on the Screen Options were unticked.
On your WordPress 3.1 admin panel click the screen options to expand the list and tick the Custom Fields and Excerpt boxes and they’re back.
