Surfing on others’ waves

Surfing on others’ waves

March 12th, 2010 | Filed under Blog,Marketing

With loads of opportunities of surfing the commercial and PR waves, this weekend offers a bumper opportunity as it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and next week is the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival and St Patricks Day.

Why should you surf on these waves? Well, even if you’re not a horse racing fan or you’re not Irish it’s likely that some of your customers are so why not provide offers on these themes?

It’s obvious that these ‘special days’ exist for commercial purposes so try and take advantage as much as you can!

Did you notice that Google changed its homepage design whilst the Winter Olympics were taking place; and what’s the betting that they implement a little shamrock or two for St Paddy’s Day next week?

Jump on the bandwagon and offer your customers and clients special offers and special deals for a win-win situation – you get a boost in sales and the customer benefits from a good deal too! Simples.

“Simples” – even i’m saying it now. I hate that advert, yet it’s become a phenomenon and everyone recognises it and the company it represents. Blog for another time…
